Trees Class - Supply List
This class is available on Zoom as two sessions of 3 hours each, anywhere in the world...
The Tree Panel is best made in tones and shades of one or two colours - choose a colour scheme first.
I recommend that beginners use cotton fabrics only, as they make life easier...
You will need at least 10 or 12 fabrics for the background in shades of your chosen colour. This is an opportunity to use small "treasured" pieces, but don't let it get too busy - have some plains and neutral shades of your chosen colours. Choose from a variety of tones - some dark, some light and some medium.
Add to these at least 4 long quarters of "Tree" fabric to go on top - these can be fabrics with texture, batiks, hand-dyes etc
Thread:- 100% cotton thread in a neutral colour to go with your fabrics. Pretty thread for applique and quilting..
Sewing tools:- the usual pins, scissors, etc. You should have a rotary cutter, cutting mat, and a long (as opposed to square) quilter's ruler.
Sewing machine:- Nothing fancy, all you need is simple stitches and a standard (zigzag) foot. Please make sure that you bring the manual, put in a fresh needle, and wind a bobbin before you start.
